Golden Shit
Pedro Sarmiento invited me to submit a print work for Common Underground --an exhibit on how different countries perceived the United States. I was given the topic Colonialism and I came up with the Golden Shit (Tae). One of the excerpts in the work description:
...No wonder most Filipinos think America as the promised land even at the expense of their homeland. No wonder they value the almighty dollar above their own lowly peso. No wonder they think that everything made in America is golden... that anyone who had an American education is more intelligent than those who studied in their own country...
No wonder they are content to dream of golden shit.
The work was exhibited at the World Day of Design by AIGA Miami and New World School of the Arts .
